Marco's little helpers have been doing a little of their own breeding work, and have multiplied in numbers as well as producing new Queens. As a consequence, new hives have had to be set up, which have been scattered around the hybridising garden.

Two new varieties of Astrantia have emerged from Marco van Noort's ongoing breeding program. 'Moulin Rouge' is a hybrid available to order now via mail order for delivery Autumn 2004 / Spring 2005, while another un-named plant is set for a 2006 introduction.
