Heuchera ‘Swirling Fantasy’ gives a fine display of purple leaves with pewter marbling, set off with sprays of red flowers in summer.

It was the first Heucheras to combine purple foliage with red flowers.

The site is just south of Assen, famous for its motorcyle racing circuit.

 

Klaas Klaassen formerly worked at the land registry office, and decided to start growing perennials commercially in 1985, after an opportunity came up to buy a suitable piece of land.

 

Klaas is very much into a hands on approach, having built his own house on the site. Visitors to the nursery also have the opportunity to buy plants direct from him - if they are willing to dig them out of the ground themselves!
