Plant Brief

Ligularia 'Little Lantern'
from Helmut Stade

Introduced 2003

With its clean foliage and numerous conical clusters of golden-yellow flowers, Ligularia ‘Little Lantern’ is an extremely good representative of its genus.

Of course its compact habit is also remarkable, as is its ability to perform well and flower in a pot, something that is rarely the case with its mother L. x hessei.

Hardiness: US zones 4-8

Despite one of the hottest spells in The Netherlands in 100 years, L. 'Little Lantern' is looking good in mid July.

This image clearly shows how the mature L. 'Little Lantern' has retained its compact habit compared to other varieties planted alongside it.

The golden flower clusters really do shine like lanterns!
