New in the Garden

Aconitum moldavicum

Aconitum moldavicum is a species natively found growing in the minefields of Moldavia in the former Soviet Union.

Sitting happily in Marco’s hybridising garden, a number of different colours are beginning to emerge, ranging from deepest purple-blue through grey-purple and pale-pink.

Sanguisorba obtusa ‘Chatto’ was obtained from Beth Chatto in England.

Its blue-grey foliage is wonderfully set off by red stems, but the unspectacular white flower clusters mean that this plant may not be considered commercially viable.
