Tradescantia 'Pink Chablis'
01-06-2006 15:36 Tradescantia 'Pink Chablis' is another ex-Darwin plantSpotters variety introduced by Marco in 2003.
By Miriam Young

Unique for the ruffled white edges to its soft-pink flowers, Tradescantia 'Pink Chablis' is a cut above the rest.

Vital statistics:
Height: 18”/ 45cm
Spread: 12”/ 30cm
Hardiness: US zones 3-9
Blooms: June-September

Tradescantia 'Pink Chablis' was discovered by Marco growing among a production crop of Geraniums.

Quite a find, but not as bizarre as it sounds, as during the previous year the same space had been occupied by a crop of Tradescantia 'Rubra', which in fact Marco had disposed of because it had become contaminated with a number of different seedlings of various colours, a few of which refused to go away and reappeared among the Geraniums.

Tradescantia 'Pink Chablis' is still sold around the world and may be found at the same place you buy your current Darwin PlantSpotters varieties.
