Eleonore de Koning has developed an array of Oriental Poppies, the majority of which fall into one of two series, 'New York' and 'Parisienne'.
The 'New Yorkers' are longlasting flowers available in many rich shades right through the purple-red spectrum.
 'Brooklyn' and 'Manhatten'
 'Harlem'
 'Staten Island'
The 'Parisiennes' are a hugely varied selection, but bound by the common attributes of having large flowers on strong, short stems. Eleonore describes these as having 'good legs'.
The foliage of the 'Parisiennes' stays good for a much longer period than normal, and these varieties often re-bloom in the summer.
They are named after Paris landmarks such as 'Clochard', 'Louvre', 'Moulin Rouge' and 'Place Pigalle'.

'Arc de Triomphe' and 'Notre Dame'
With its brilliant vermillion-red edges, 'Place Pigalle' takes centre stage.
