Plant Brief

Heuchera
'Caramel'
from Thierry Delabroye
France

Introduced 2006
(Debuts in Darwin PlantSpotters 2007)

Forms a dense, sturdy mound of large copper-caramel foliage set off with red leaf undersides. The colour intensifies from gold and yellow-green shades to rich caramel and ruby-gold as the plant matures.

Sprays of creamy flowers rise on tall wiry stems late in the season.

H. 'Caramel' is an exceptionally strong plant in this sought-after colour group and is able to withstand heat, humidity and exposure to sunlight that would make many others wither. This strength is attributed to its H. villosa species ancestry.
