Gems in the Cave

_

Dick Maas was the person responsible for making Potentilla 'Arc-en-Ciel' available to the world.

An unusual Rudbeckia form

Persicaria amplexicaulis 'Taurus' has a more compact habit than 'Firetail', with fatter spikes of richly coloured flowers. In Dick's garden it blooms from June right through till frost.

The flowers of this Sedum with remain green when they are open.

Persicaria 'Inverleith' grows to just 18" with an amazingly compact, tidy habit.

Dick is enamoured with this Poppy, given to him by British plants guru, Bob Brown

Dick's wife Marja has done a fantastic job of incorporating the varied selection of plants Dick continues to collect into the garden that surrounds their home.

Among his collection are a Convallaria with giant flowers and a white flowered Mertensia virginiaca.

Appearances can be deceptive. This isn't a variegated Clematis, but is a clever combination of Clematis with a variegated Lonicera.
