New Hosta Possibilities
05-07-2004 11:42 Several new and intriguing Hostas have emerged this year that Gert is keeping a close eye on.

This mostly white mutation from H. 'Revolution' is a promising newcomer that may be introduced in 2006. It still isn't named, so any suggestions from PlantSpotters fans will be taken into consideration!

This multicoloured specimen would be a fantastic new variety - if only it was stable! Gert is experimenting with the plants to see if he can make that happen.

Although Hostas are Gert's first love, he's got a few other things on the go, including the variegated Hemerocallis seen here. Unfortunately, all the plants shown in this tray are unstable, but at the same time are fantastic for breeding from, as they give a much greater range of possibilities.
